Axis "Override Limits" checkbox gone?

I remember that there has been this checkbox to override the limit switches, but all configurations I run, they don't have that checkbox.
It's still somewhere in the code, but I wonder if this only shows under special circumstances?
It's still documented and I had to search a bit to find an image with this.

Does anyone know how to get this checkbox enabled?

try the "l" key on keyboard, when your on the limits,
it also says you need to have them configured as limit switch

they are still being created and removed

Great, thanks for that hint. It's only displayed when the limit switch pin is connected to another pin. Interesting. I should add that to the documentation...
