I have not been able to find a source of Axis, where can it be obtained?

Thanks John, but I still can't find any reference to Axis, I already have installed EMC2 and it is working OK (not set-up any machine yet though)

When you install the source with git it places a copy of all the source files in your home directory.
Just follow the step by step in "2.2. Getting the source with git"
