on the fly command line control was created by trofnards
Hi All,
I am very new to the EMC2 world (and Linux as well). So please forgive me if I posting this in the wrong forum thread.
I am looking for command line utilities to control EMC2 on the fly.
I recently purchased and put together a bluechick CNC from buildyourcnc.com. My intent was to use the CNC as a 3-axis translation stage for some measurements that I am automating.
Unfortunately, my positions are dynamic. So within a given time interval I do not know what my user commands will be. I have thought about writing a gcode file and then running it through the command line, but that seems crude. I was wondering if there are any good command line utilities for EMC2. And if so, where is a good place to start.
Thanks
trofnards.

Hi
Have a look at axis-remote and emcrsh.
There are various threads on the forum about their use.
They offer between them a way of loading a file and executing it or sending a series of MDI commands.
