HAL component for the compumotor SX6 stepper drive was created by cmorley
I built this component for the SX6 drive from Parker.
It communicates over RS232 using the serial port ( so it's a userspace program ).
It has constant velocity mode (for using it as a spindle drive) or indexing mode.
I tested it using a USB to serial converter which is very convenient.
The serial port is hardcoded which should be fixed.... and it's not really well tested or even finished...
Just wondering if anyone has one of these drives so something similar....

It has an up-to-speed pin that doesn't quite work - if you go from a negative velocity to a positive velocity (or vice versa) the calculated time is wrong...
