Spindle brake delay

Aaaannnnndddd... This is why I posted the question. Brilliant. That gives me exactly the behavior I want.

It is amazing how every single time I have wondered if I'm at a point where I may need a custom ladder, it turns out that there is a different twist to using the signals and readily available components. I'm quickly learning to expand my viewpoint on what you can do in 'simple HAL' land. It really is pretty impressive.

[edit: actually, thinking about this, I can't quite do that right now... The original machine (Hurco KMB1) didn't have a spindle encoder. My plan is to add it, but I have to get my machine running so that I can fabricate the bracket.]
