XHC-HB04 Diameter Display with Lathe

I got an XHC-HB04 pendant for use with my CNC lathe. I have it mostly configured, and it works great!

On my lathe DRO, I can display the X axis as either the radius or the diameter. (When the diameter is on the display, it is preceded with an additional ".". As an example, a 1/2" diameter would show .0.5000)

I generally only use the diameter mode, and 'd like to have the diameter instead of the radius shown on the display for the XHC. Is this possible?

Hello,

Although I do not know to reply to your question I would like to know if you have the wired or the wireless version of this pendant. I am looking to buy the wired version (I do not trust to a machine wireless) and I do not know if they work with linuxcnc.

emcPT:
I use the wireless version and they work fine with linuxcnc .
the wired version , although i have not used it , will work just as easily

10k:
is this for the display on the xhc , if so then it probably will need a re-write of the firmware
you dont mention if this is the wired or the wireless version .

Thank you cncbasher, but I would really like a reply from someone that would confirm (from experience) that the wired will work.
I would then buy the pendent with peace of mind.

it has been used with Linuxcnc ,
but remember you will need to configure these by hand , they are not plug and play .

I have the wireless version. Like you, I considered the wired version because I was concerned about controlling something with a wireless connection that might go out. That being said, I have not had any problems with loss of connectivity, and the remote works quite well.

I followed the online instructions to configure the XHC. It's one of the few things I got to work with linuxcnc the first time!

cncbasher:
Yes, I was referring to the XHC. I was hoping it would be an easy tweak to the xhc-hb04.hal file to get a diameter display on the XHC.

An alternative approach for configuration:

1) Use the Configuration Selector and choose one of the
existing simulator configs that use a provided library
HALFILE=xhc-hb04.tcl:

Sample Configurations/sim/axis/xhc-hb04

2) Test the sim config with your pendant to see if it works

3) Read the provided README file for some explanation and
instructions for adapting to an existing configuration.

Notes:

The README and information about each sim config appear in
the right panel of the Configuration Selector when
you click on the directory or the individual layout
config name

Numerous portions of the wiki info are not applicable for
LinuxCNC installs after 2.6
