Hello,

I have a question is there a pin which shows the spindle is in motion or stopped?
At the moment when estop is triggered I also cut all the power to the drives (This happens in Ladder).
But then the spindle slowly running down, So I want to delay this until the spindle has stoped.
I wonder what is the best solution for this is there already I pin I can use? O so I use „near“ like for spindle at speed?

Or is there even a better solution in total?

Thanks Patrick

Replied by PCW on topic Hal pin for spindle has stopped
I would use "near" but I would not want to delay axis motion shutdown
waiting for the spindle to stop.

Hi,

At the moment when estop is triggered I also cut all the power to the drives
This is good.

But then the spindle slowly running down.

If your spindle drive or frequency regulator has a brake. Then try to activate the brake when estop is triggered.

So I want to delay this until the spindle has stoped.
You problably want to do this, because your drive get's in error?

At the moment spindle and drives are wired together (was already done this way with the old controller). I could split them cause there a enough io left. But doesn’t linuxcnc stop all motion when in estop? I just want to cut the power to the dives a bit later.
