Hi Guys,

2 days ago my Pc running LinuxCNC died and today i setup the replacement. I saved my config from the dead pc.
So after i got LinuxCNC installed via this link : www.linuxcnc.org/testing-stretch-rtpreempt/
(like i did many times before). I went ahead and installed all my stuff that was missing from my old System ( onboard, probe basic screenset).
I then went ahead and did the sudo apt get update and upgrade.

Now i setup a new configuration with PNCwizard and i was already wondering because that one looked different than i remembered(no field for entering the ip Adress for the 7i76e).
after i finished the pncconfig i went ahead and started that configuration which worked perfectly fine.
Now i went ahead and tried copying my old hal and ini (basically my whole old configuration) to the new one but Linuxcnc wont start anymore.

You can see the error on the attached Image.

I just saw that 2.8 released so maybe that has something to do with this.

i hope someone can help me because i really couldnt handle having to setup everything from the beginning...

Posting your config files would help a lot.

Have you tried deleting "coordinates = XYYZ" in INI files [KINS] KINEMATICS section?

I'm sorry, disregard.

Have you upgraded linuxCNC? Or why did you use PNCWizard and not just copy the config folder to the new system?

Ok, have you compared the old ini and hal to newly created files?

Maybe try to delete the "coordinates = XYYZ" anyway.

[edit]

Ok try "coordinates=XYYZ" (without the spaces)

I just tried it in 2.8, it does not like the spaces.

Ok, last thing I can think of:

Delete that line and type it again, then save and try.

Make sure you use a simple text editor like geany and not an office application like libreOffice.
