Good evening, everyone
Today I've tried to adapt the ini and hal file generate by Pncconf Wizard to my machine.
Both files are attached.
So in brief what i did was to generate the ini and hal file with the Wizard.
The wizard generates also a certain number of files and among them a file mymachine.pncconf.
Now after I modified the file ini and hal without modify the file mymachine.pncconf, I double click on the launcher and linuxcnc froze.
At this point I have to kill the process to get out of the mad.
Any help, would be great.
Thanks in advance.
V.

Did it work before you modified it? If so what did you change?
Did it give any error message if so can you post it.
Try starting linuxcnc from a terminal as that should generate an error.

Hi
Thank you for the reply.
Yes I made change to the ini and hal files.
The original are attached.
So this original generate an error that i suppose is due to the fact that my machine is off (mesa card power off).
At this stage I am not particularly worried about this error (also attached).
What happens with the modified hal and ini is that when I run linuxcnc, from icon or terminal, there is not error generate but seem that some loops goes in, something that does not allow linuxcnc to open.
It's like when you run some code that generate lots of calculation without stopping.
What i am going to try soon is to start my machine (mesa card power on) and try the unmodified files and than try the modified one after removing methodically codes lines.
In any case if someone would like to look at the files and has some tip, would be great.
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Are you saying that you have not powered the card up when trying to start linuxcnc ?

If that's the case get the basic config running with the MESA hardware powered.
It's somewhat useless trying to find an error when an error is going to show up because your hardware isn't on.

Good evening, to everyone.
Yes, that was the case, the machine and the card was off.
I agree with what you said.
Please let me tell you something.
About 6 months ago I was in the middle of building a special mirror with the intention of reflecting an anamorphic prospective.
Now as you expect, the porpoise of the mirror was to check an image.
For some reason that at this point I cannot recollect, instead of observing the image in front of the mirror, I was looking at the back of the mirror and at the same time I was asking to myself why I couldn't see the image reflected.
I swear to god that when my wife came in and saw me sitting at the table trying to figure out what was wrong, she wanted to sent me to the psychiatrist.
So please, bear with me, i am a faulty machine.
Regards,
V.
