Ok. So I am trying to use a Pokeys55 with EMC.
Pokeys setup:
Pretty simple right now one rotay switch connected to digital inputs to the pokeys which are then mapped to joystick buttons. When configured in windows I can see all of the digital inputs change state as expected.
Emc hal setup.
I have loaded Hal_input and can start EMC and view all of my pins in hal.
Problem.
If I plug the pokeys in and start EMC. Go to Hal meter or configuration to view pin status. When i rotate the switch the pins will go high and stay high.
imagebin.org/136494
Close EMC and restart EMC (NOT the whole PC) View pin status again all are low and the pins do respond at all.
If I unplug the pokeys and plug it back in, this cycle repeats.
Any Ideas where to look?

It might be worth sending this question to the mailing list.
It sounds like a problem at the Pokeys end to me, if restarting EMC2 doesn't reset it, but unplugging the Pokeys does.

I will find mine and connect it up again. I know everything worked for me as I expected but don't have the config that I used as I lost it somehow.
What are the lines your using to load the pokeys?
Did you set the permissions?
www.linuxcnc.org/docview/html/man/man1/hal_input.1.html

John,
Yes i set the permission and also ran,
sudo addgroup plugdev
sudo addgroup myloginname plugdev
to verifiy.
To load the PoKeys i used,
loadusr -W hal_input -KRAL PoKeys:0 PoKeys:1
I had to load the two components as the pokeys shows up as two devices.
0 = standard HID joystick
1 = standard HID Keyboard
As background if i map the digital inputs on the pokeys to keyboard buttons it seems to work fine. I just dont know if thats just linux reconizing the keyboard like any other keyboard
