tool orientation not changing was created by Ross77
So I'm trying to setup the tool table but only the offset seems to work. If i change the orientation and add the front and back angle the preview in axis doesn't change.
do i need to set a G or M code to make it work?
Fusion is generating the gcode from the same parameters in CAM so do I even need to set up linux tool table other than offsets?

When I tried 30 and -30 for front/back angle it worked. Not sure if thats the correct order.

I did front angle -30 back angle-30 orient 7. This shows in axis. I just did File, Edit tool table. Add a tool number, and POC number. I also put 3 in DIAM. After saving the tool appears in axis if called in MDI eg T4 M6.

Front Angle and Back angle are not currently used for anything other than a visual confirmation in the Axis preview.
If and when we get the G71 / G72 codes integrated, then we will use the angles properly.

Thanks Andy
So I only need to worry about the offsets then?
Is there any reason why its not even changing the visual in axis when the angles and tool orientation are set?

Are you issuing a G43 command?
(by default you need to, but if you don't want to have to there are options)

Yes G43 for tool offsets when the tool is loaded. its not too much of a issue as it seems to be cutting ok. Just saw in the set up section that it should show in the preview so wondered if I had done something wrong. cheers

Maybe you have the front and back angles the wrong way round? (So that the tool has a negative included angle)?
