Hi,
I've just converted my Colchester Student lathe to LinuxCNC.
Its my first time with Linux CNC, previously used Mach3 and UCCNC.
Anyway it all seems to be working OK apart from feed per rev.
When I over ride the spindle speed, going faster gives a lower feed per rev and vice versa. I think its also doing this when running Gcode (ie, lower feed per rev with higher spindle speed).
Any ideas???
Matt

Sounds like your hal file is not linking motion.spindle-speed-in to the
actual spindle speed from your spindle encoder
actual spindle speed from your spindle encoder

Is it possible that his RPM is exceeding his sampling rate? So that as the spindle is turning faster, but Linuxcnc sees it as slower or unchanged because of missed counts.

It certainly possible, but easily checked by watching motion.spindle-speed-in
