Toolprobe for X/Z touch off was created by tecno
Started a small project years ago when I was using Mach but never got time to finish.
Made this base for a probe, it is heavy and very sturdy and will register to same position. Mock-up with bar to show probe tip.
Need to fix a fixture for the probe, probe tip will be flat quadrant type that should be easy to line-up.
Will be using a Marposs T-18 probe with a Renishaw inteface board.
Is there any easy way to get a TAB in Axis with a touch-off routine for X/Z only?
Have been searching to can not find anything suitable. Or is it so that this has not been done yet?
Pointer on 'how-to'.
Cheers
Bengt

Maybe take Fern's probe screen and change it?
I haven't seen a lathe-probe screen. In fact I just MDI G38.2 on my milling machine and do all my lathe setup with test-cuts and measuring the work.

Subscribed. I have been entertaining the idea of adding a probe on the lathe.

More eyes on this subject the better.
Why I decided to go with a *block* to fix the probe in Z is that whatever chuck I have mounted I will always have the probe Z in same position. Work in progress (very slowly )
I also have one of those *arms for lathe* from Renishaw but I can not find a good way to mount this, but still contemplating a rebuild if the arm.
