Use PWM instead of Potentiometer VFD was created by Anonymous
I have a VFD which controlls the spindle motor on my lathe.
It is currently hooked up to a Potentiometer to be controlled by hand but i want to controll it with a PWM signal.
Can i just hook up the PWM signal to the VFD instead of the potentiometer? Or will that not work?

It depends on the VFD, but probably.
What is generating the PWM?
Here is a simple circuit than can be used to make a PWM look like a potentiometer to the VFD:

An other alternative is to purchase ready made board they cost about $6:

Ifyou google analog 0-10v to pwd converter you will probably find a supplier in your area.
