MaxNC T2 X-axis Stepper Motor? was created by fbergski
Good day,
I'm trying to find the specifications for a MazNC T2 x-axis stepper motor, it's has a optical encoder attached to it. We have a custom machine in our facility made from a T2 lathe, I cannot find any stickers on the motor itself. My task is to upgrade the machine to modern electronics.
Your help would be appreciated.

Is the MaxNC motor classed as the outdated electronics, or is it going to be part of the refit?
You might be better getting a matching closed-loop stepper and drive rathe than trying to figure out the motor that you have.

I'd prefer to keep the same motor as it's still in good condition. I think it's a Lin Engineering stepper motor.

The old Dell laptop controlling the machine has been on for ten years straight and our IT department won't replace it. It has a parallel printer port which is hard to find in a laptop or even desktop.

Parallel ports are actually pretty easy to find, still. Especially if you also look at those boards with a header for the p-port rather than a back panel.
Three with a port:

Five with a header:

But I am not sure if that was a question?
