7i43 connect error was created by cncbasher
i have a 7i43-4 , that appears to not respond , or possible other problem , so has anyone come across any problems ?
it appears at first glance to be able to communicate with the pc as it responds that the chip is a spartan c200 and not as it is a 400 version .
but this could be a fallback situation when infact no communication is in place , so is their a way to check or re-initialise the 7i43 to default
just in case some other configuration has screwed it .
any guidance pointers ?
i could connect the jtag port i presume , but is their any easier faultfinding procedures with them .
Thanks
Dave

Is this a card that was working or is this a first time setup?

OK for first time EPP setup a couple of things to check:
1. Card is jumpered for EPP and host downloaded config (W4 and W5 down)
2. Card has power (2 red LEDs and the yellow LED should be on before the configuration is loaded)
3. You have a working EPP port set in EPP mode (in BIOs setup if port is on motherboard)
4. EPP cable is correct
