Mesa Serial Firmware was created by EmcRules
Where would i find the firmware for serial support on the 5i23? I checked out a version of 2.5.0-pre2 but there was no firmware directory for the 5i23 just 7i43. in my /lib/firmware/hm2 directory i only have the svst versions i belive i need the svss version.

They can be built with the source in the per card support zipfiles from Mesa but EMCs source is likely too old to build working sserial configs. Older remote cards may work but the newer remote cards with parameter discovery wont, plus there have been a ton of bug fixes in the embedded sserial processors firmware.
I think EMCs sserial firmware is V17 and we are now at V31
What pin-out do you need? That is, what daughter cards do you have and what do you need in addition to the sserial interface?

Peter,
I am using a 7i44 connected to ch1 of the 5i23 and a 7i42 connected to ch2 of the 5i23. i planed on using the 7i42 to connect encoder and hall signals back to emc and also to provide the hardware enable signal to the 8i20. on the 7i44 i only have one 8i20 to connect but plan on adding two others.
