Hi!
Are there any firmwares for Mesa 5i20 that allows using Smart Serial daughter cards (7i74 for example).
Thanks in advance

The 7i74 is for 25 pin I/O FPGA cards like 5i25. I'm pretty sure you can use a 7i44 with a 5i20.

Yes, there are several 5I20 configs that include SSerial (for 7I52, 7I44, 7I47 RS-422 interfaces at least)

ups, yes 7i44. Anyway are there any firmwares to support them?
There are no *SS-kind firmwares in /hm2/5i20

Yes there is a SVSS4_8 and a SVSS6_8 (for 7I33 and 7I44 or 7I48 and 7I44) plus some for 7I52 (SVSS6_6)
What configuration do you need?
Note that the 5I20's FPGA is not very big so theres a limit to what will fit

PS is there special place where with all firmwares are stored, or you are making them on fly?

The source for all the latest is in the 5i20.zip file from Mesa
The hm2 buildbot really really needs an update to the latest firmware
I have been building these by hand (there are hundreds of possible bitfiles now)

Wow! That's a lot .
But how do we make a firmware out of PIN files. There's no make file in the archive from Mesa.
I've tried to unpack /5i20/CONFIGS/HOSTMOT2/SOURCE/hostmot2.zip over the snapshot of hostmot2 git repository and tried to use it's makefile, with no success. Having this message as a result:
Firmware requires one of these ise major versions to build: 10 9

Thats true for the 5I20 and 4I65 (that use Spartan 2 FPGAs) you need Xilinx weppack
(the free version of ISE) versions 9 or 10. I use 9.2i for Spartan 2

Could you give a step by step guide how to create a firmware for Mesa 5I20 for Smart Serial daughter card (7i44 + 7i70 and 7i71)?
using Xilinx is over my head
