my mistake, BRUSHED DC motors. Obvious when you look for the brush caps.

From the date when Anilam was making these systems, I thought it had to
be brushed motors. Well, there are a number of choices. AMC or
Copley amps from eBay, Pico Systems or Mesa servo amps, or
(gag) the Gecko 320. (I don't really recommend the latter as
their stepper drives are great, but the following error on the G320
can be high with some motor/power supply combinations.)
