questions on the 7i40 was created by mecaman46
Hello,
I have a little trouble to design with the retrofit of plasma cutters my table.
the machine is mounted with brushed servo motors with tachometer (an optical drive ECT150 Stewart warner) and I would drive the motor with the 7i40 card, but I can not mount the encoders on the axis of the rotor motor.
is it possible with this card, having encoders trained by the rack of the axis?
thank you for your care
sincerely

The machine, which is fitted as I modify the plan indicates.
Is there a solution (pico system, mesa, or PMDX) to reuse the mounting state?
servo motor 12Amp 80VDC 4000RPM
encoder 512pulse/rot
kings regards

I suspect the 7I40 is a little small for that motor
a Mesa 7I29 or Pico systems PWM amp would be a better fit
Do you have the original motor drives?
If they work, they should be usable as well

Yes , i have the original motor drives, but don't have informations for connect this, the ECT150C is old and, no one can give electrical Wiring, for connect CN on this motor drive...
if you have informationss , it would be interesting
cordialy
( ECT150C is an optical tracing system by Stewart Warner mounted over SAF OXYTOME 20-25 OXY/PALSMA)

The part number/manufacturer of the motor drives
themselves might help in searching for information

You can also run our servo amps with a Mesa controller board.
With either the Pico or Mesa controller, you may wish to opt for a higher resolution
encoder, it makes servo tuning easier.

The Pico Systems Universal PWM Controller and PWM servo amps should be suitable.

The motor is brand " UL" listed 560X N° 01A220991 Control System Manufactured by Stewart-Warner ECT50/150, year 2/ 1984
And under the control block, he no longer label
Afer control on this, tension is 24VDC at 3Amp in load for 2000 RPM and advancement linear 5 m/min
I think, that I could not get good results if I keep this type of training
