I have Heidenhain linear scales that output 11uApp and I found Heidenhain EXE 602 interpolation boxes on ebay for 60.00 each. Not sure what you need for 1Vpp output but it may be available fairly cheaply used compared to the Heidenhain price. Sorry, thats the only information I have.

I just proceed with Hiperface encoder RS485 interface with positive results. Its in principal easy to understand and implement into HAL..

Can you give more details? Is this something that could be a released HAL component?

yes, Iam developing a HAL component for Hiperface. Sure I can provide it when finished.

The code is very rough now, but Iam able to read absolute position and some other status information too. Since its only 9600bd RS485 interface it can not be used for 1ms servo loop, but just for commutation setup after power on.

I plan to use 7i44 serial interface for encoder connection. Lately I could use some help with customization of 7i43 firmware for UART communication with selected port(s). I tried firmware compilation with Webpack 9.2i, but Iam not sure if done correctly. Maybe some sample of prj file could help.

I just finished the IC-NV chip for sin/cos interpolation initial testing. It proved its functionality for 16-fold interpolation.

Iam going to design a production PCB.

If anyone is interested having sin/cos encoder needs to be quadrature signals, please let me know. I can therefore design PCB with universal features.

Briefly about ic-nv. For 16-fold interpolation, max. input frequency is 200kHz. For instance you can have servo with 3000RPM, 2048 sin/cos encoder, in total 2048 * 16= 32768 * 4 = 131072 PPR, which is insane!

You can buy a evaluation-Board from Ichaus.
www.distrelec.biz/en/demo-board-bit-ic-h...c-nv-demo/p/17350856
www.ichaus.de/upload/pdf/MHL200_EVAL_MH2D_evalmanual_A1en.pdf

If you want to use a small board you can use this chinese adapter boards and and a simple experimental
PCB with some Resistors and jumpers.

I think, you cant beat this price with an individual made PCB.

Sorry, the false ev-Board
Here is the right, but the other have the same, what you get with the chinese adapters.

PCW,

Did you ever develop this?

We intend to make a little DSPIC interpolator but have not finished it yet

I have couple of RSF/Heidenhain sine cosine mili volt scales I'd like to hook up. Not a big fan of getting the massive converter boxes off fleabay. It would be nice to have a small plug and play 3 or 4 axis board that would play nice with the rest of the Mesa hardware.
