ppmc configs???? was created by jlviloria
greetings to all.
I'm starting my settings with PPMC, I MDX650A roland retrofit a router, with 4 axis.
is my first time with PPMC,
I have two universal stepper, 4 PWM Brushless Servo Amplifier, all connectors for operation.
first thing I did was get the parallel port. check the forum and found a way to have a diagnosis of it is the following.
05:00.0 Parallel controller: NetMos Technology PCI 9865 Multi-I/O Controller (prog-if 03)
Subsystem: Device a000:2000
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency: 32, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11
Region 0: I/O ports at d010
Region 1: I/O ports at d000
Region 2: Memory at fb101000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Region 4: Memory at fb100000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
then download the program ppmc diagnosis, and I threw it.
with the feeding of 12 VDC. no more nothing connected.
cnc@cnc:~$ sudo ./ppmcdiags d010 bus
diags ppmc test program V4.2 5/5/2013
io addr = d010
parport addr 0xd010

really do not understand.
There are currently no led on, I have just connected a card (UPC), I want to know what happens, will the parallel port is not supported, as I can be sure this is right or wrong?
Further to this, this card has a dip switch, this ON, 1, 2 and 10.
truth does not quite understand the procedure to know if my card is ready to start configuring.
thanks,
Jorge

the PC and the UPC boards are getting out of sync. I also see
a two-bit error at 13010, where an "a1" was read as "a2".
Are you using the parallel cable that I supplied with the unit?
You must use an IEEE-1284 cable, standard 25-pin cables don't
work at all. I think you indicated you were using a NetMos
parallel card, some older NetMos cards did not work at all
in EPP mode. I can't say whether your card is good or not,
all I know is Dell and Intel on-motherboard ports work very well, and
SIIG PCI cards work well.

This is not good at all! The errors show some bytes OK, so it looks likerun the sudo. / ppmcdiags d010 Commtest

LinuxCNC driver is called "ppmc", it actually serves 3 different devices,
the PPMC and the universal PWM and stepper controllers.

Just to be clear, you have two Universal PWM Controllers. Although thegreetings to all.

Jon, thanks for your answer.
I consult with my suppliers, and do not handle SIIG brand.
This is the parallel port I'm using, clearly says that working in EPP mode.
There will be parallel port settings? lei on this page you need to run something in C, to set to EPP. bearings would know as this?
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Startech
thanks.
