Setting up a step response with mesa gear was created by JR1050
First off , Im no genuis with a real scope and worse with halscope.....So with that being said, Ive been tuning my servos by feel on my last two machines, it is time consuming and while I gotten them live-able, I always thought they could be tighter. My present project is a very large mill with old Ge Hi-ak amps. These were never easy to tune.They use caps and resistors to adjust lag and gain, there is a point where I may have to change them, but I really wont know untill I get close with the postion loop in EMC.
Anyway it seems like being able to visual tune them would be helpful, how do I set up halscope for a step response on;
5i23 with 7i49?
5i20 with 7i33?
5i25 with 7i77?
Ive seen examples on the forum, but like Ive kinda said, Im not a scope genius(or even any good at all!!!). Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Have you seen my velocity tuning tutorial? You should be able to set up HalScope from the screen shots.
