Hello!
I´m trying to figure out what signals are reguired to activare the encoder inputs on a 7i77 mesa card and I cant find it in the manual,
do they need a positive or negative signal?
Also I´m going to buy Sino encoder scales but the salesman cant really give a clear answer that I can connect it to this board, at one time he says its a serial communication and when I descibes what I need is not a serial communication but one wire for each A,B and Z signal he says that that is what I get so I´m really confused.
In their catalogue it says that the communication mode is EIA-RS422A and under that is says Line driver.

Can you post a link to the scale datasheet?
The 7I77 encoder input are for quadrature encoders (with A,B,Z signals)
The 7I77 encoder inputs can accept line driver (RS-422 = differential) or TTL levels

Ok that explains the RS-422 confusion
Thank you very much.
I only have it somewhere in my mailbox but I dont think its needed though.
