Is there a bit file for 7i85_7i77 available? was created by akb1212
PCW,
I have bought a 7i85 to replace my 7i74. I need to increase the number of encoders I can read so I plan on swapping out the 7i74 and replace it with the new 7i85.
Now I reckon that means I need to flash my 5i25 with new firmware. I have downloaded the zip file with all available firmware files. But in them I can’t seem to find one with 7i77 and 7i85. The only ones I can find with 7i77 are with 7i85s (and one named 5i25_7i77_7i85sp, not sure what that is for).
I don't have the s version of 7i85 as I don't need stepper outputs. But I do want to keep the sserial ports so I don't want to flash my card with the present firmware file. So I guess I need a firmware file that isn't available yet.
You made a special firmware file for me last time since I have a physical configuration where my 7i77 needs to be on the internal connector (P2) and not on the external P3 connector.
And since I still need this I was hoping you would be able to help me out once again and compile a firmware with 7i85_7i77 for me? And it would probably be a good idea to make one for 7i77_7i85 as well when you are at it. After all there are no available firmware files for this combination at all. I have seen others trying to make their own firmware files. But I don't feel comfortable doing that on my own. The tools needed are above me, and I don't have the time it would take to learn how to use them.
I'm reading DaBit's threads in the advanced section about dual encoder input with great interest. It's because I also plan on using dual encoders. And this is what I need the 7i85 for.
Thanks in advance!
Anders

Yup, figgured that.
There's no emediate rush for me on this. Do it when it's a good time for you (although I hope it's not weeks.... ). I'm just glad to have this kind of support on your products!
Thanks!

Hmm, 7i85S would be a nice board for me too.
Let's see if it is available on this side of the splash of water.
