Ok, now is clear.

The 7i54 would be very "on spot" for your project if you are able to sacrifice a bit of speed.
Maybe PCW jumps in (or ask him directly) and he can inform if you can expect a bit more from the 7i54.

I could not find the 7i54 on the MESA webstore. How much does this cost? Is this still available?
I did not find any guidance on how to setup the HBridge to adjust the amp part to the servo motor.
I know for the Gecko or the UHU Servo that there is a detailed procedure on how to finetune the settings to work best with the servo motor. Is this not needed for the 7i54?

The 7I54 should be available soon but is quite a bit too small for the Puma

if using analog drives, these are probably pretty close:
