OK, working on my bldc test system. new Asrock Q1900M mainboard (boots wicked fast) with a new 6i24-16 (the pcie version of a 5i24).
The 6i24 is in the 'full 5i24 compatible' mode. The Mesanet software downloaded for the 6i24 is the same as for the 5i24. The only bit file for the 7i39 is 5i24_16_svsttp6_6_7i39.bit
Questions: is this the correct bit file? will it support 2 7i39 boards?
I successfully loaded the bit file using Mesaflash. no problem there I think.
Previously I had called the bit file in the [HOSTMOD2] section of the .ini file using CONFIG="firmware=.........bit num_3pwmgens=4 num_encoders=4"
Is "firmware=..." still needed? or just the num_3pwmgens and num_encoders?
Am I missing anything?

No, the" firmware=xxxxx" option is not needed (or useful) for FPGA cards that have
local firmware storage.
This includes the 5I25, 6I25, 5I24, 6I24, 7I80HD, 7I80DB, 7I76E, 7I90, and 7I92
local firmware storage.

PCW. Thanks. got that.
something is funky as I get no motor motion using the 6i24. Encoders and all work, just no motion.
all the board jumpers are 'default' (double checked). This is the 5i24 compatible mode, correct?
I simply swap MB and fpga board back to my trusty 5i20, swapping the 50 pin flat cables, nothing more, and all 4 motors work. Same power supplies (MB and motor), same everything other than MB and fpga board. The 5i20 config uses the SVTP6_7I39.BIT file. same config options of (4) 3pwmgend and 4 encoders.
Anyway, no motion using the 6i24.
. Little help please? I am at a loss at what to try next to get motors running using the 6i24 and Asrock board.
just noticed I did not have num_stepgens=0, now it is, no change, no motor motion, though.

I would check the state of the enable pins on the 7I39 interface (via HAL)
