Mesa 7I76E Ethernet on Beaglebone or similar? was created by jeeybee
Has anyone used the Mesa 7I76E Ethernet card or similar on a beaglebone or raspberry pi or similar?
Would it not be much more easy to use this or any of the other ethernet card as the beaglebone has an ethernet port already?

The Beaglebone might work though its quite slow (slower than a 1 GHz PIII)
Raspberries dont have direct (non USB) Ethernet so are not suitable for real time Ethernet.
There are some newer ARM CPU boards that are fast and have direct Ethernet but they are typically in the $75 to
$200 range which is not much less than a small PC
