7i76E - 7I74 - 7i73 firmware was created by newbynobi
Hallo,
I have my 7i76E up and running, I can connect to all IO and spindle etc.
The 7i76 is connected to 5 V and 24 V
the 7i74 is connected to expansion port 1 of the 7i76E and has Jumper W1 down and is connected to external 5 V
the 7i73 is connected to channel 0 of the 7i74 with patch 6 straight cable.
On the 7i74 only the CR1 LED does lit yellow.
On the 7i73 the LED CR1 does lit red.
If I do understand correct, I am missing the correct firmware, as I am using in my INI File:
Can somebody help me to get the correct firmware, or is it just a configuration problem?
I do use this strange way to connect the 7i73, because I do not want to cut a cable and I need more smart serial ports to connect later on that ones the "STMBL" servo interfaces. I do know, that I may connect the 7i73 directly to the 7i76e!

I think you want
7i76e_7i76x1_7i74x1D.bit firmware
and sserial_port_0=0x sserial_port1=0xxxxxxxx (or sserial_port1=00000000 to enable all 7I74 channels)
Note that the flat cable to the 7I74 must be quite short or there will be signal integrity issues
These have been fixed by updated firmware but 7i76e_7i76x1_7i74x1D.bit has not been updated yet
7i76e_7i76x1_7i74x1D.bit firmware
and sserial_port_0=0x sserial_port1=0xxxxxxxx (or sserial_port1=00000000 to enable all 7I74 channels)

It might be a stupid question, but ...
I tried till now to find the firmware, unfortunately without success.
I have installed all hostmot2-firmware packages from linuxcnc.
I am running master in rip-environment.
Could you please give me a hand?

OK, Now I have a green flashing LED on the 7i73
Thank you so much!
How can I see what firmware version is on the 7i73 and if I need to update that one too?

If you dont get a complaint from linuxcnc, the 7I73 firmware is up-to-date (version 14)
there is a parameter that shows the remote device firmware revision, something like:
hm2_7i76e.0.7i73.1.0.swrevision

Thanks, it shows 0x0000000E, so it is up to date!
Thank you.
