Mesa 7i92 set all pins to predefined state at exit was created by Shu
Is it possible to set outputs to low/high/high impedance when LinuxCNC is not running and keep them in that state until LinuxCNC takes over?

The initial state (and state when the watchdog bites) is all high
(Pulled up inputs)

Right, can that be changed to all low/all high impedance/chosen pins low? Without using external resistors..

No, its always high at powerup/watchdog bite
I should add that it is possible to have a FPGA configuration that pre-defines pins as outputs
but these still will not be driven during the FPGA configuration loading time so its better to
either use the intended active low mode of the 7I92 outputs or (better) to implement a charge pump
