Hello,
i am in big trouble. My lathe is with mesa 7i92 + 7i76. And when i turned ON the machine, one of the outputs octal driver ICs (NCV7608) is exploded.
The machine is works before, and i dont know the reason of failure.
I desoldered the exploded IC, and tested with just one, the Linuxcnc starts and dont show error message, can read the inputs, but the outputs (0-7) does`t works.
Can this card work with just one output driver IC, or PIC can detect the missing I2C device ? or maybe the cards PIC mcu broken?

Both output chips share the same SPI interface CLK / DIN / DOUT signals
so if one of these pins got damaged the other output chip would not work
Its also possible that the PIC firmware senses a problem as a overload has not enabled the chips

Ok i will try to buy and change two ICs.
I know that the warranty does`t active for these failures, but just to interest does anybody repair mesa cards?
I have broken 7i77, 7i84, and now one 7i76.
Can i send for repair, i am from Europe (Serbia).
