Hi
can you please advise me to connect the inverter (attachment - VFD) to the 7i76 card (attachment - 7i76).
Inverter photo (Attachment - photo)
I used LinuxCNC system.
Is it correct?:
SPINDLE- => analog input COM
SPINDLE OUT => analog output AO1
SPINDLE+ => analog input AIN1
NC => ???
SPINDLE ENA- =>
SPINDLE ENA+ =>
SPINDLE DIR- => digital input X1
SPINDLE DIR+ => digital input X2
What is the +12V and COM in VFD analog input? Where from do I connect the voltage?
I'm a little confused.
Thanks a lot.

SPINDLE- => analog input COM
SPINDLE OUT => analog input AIN1
SPINDLE+ => +12V
NC => No Connection
SPINDLE ENA- => digital input COM
SPINDLE ENA+ => digital input X1
SPINDLE DIR- => digital input COM
SPINDLE DIR+ => digital input X2
If you need to run in both directions you will need to setup the VFD for "2 wire mode 2" control:
X1= ENABLE, X2 = DIR instead of the default X1 = FORWARD X2 = REVERSE

Hi
I connected VFD as mentioned above. (thanks a lot PCW).
Unfortunately, I have a problem with changing the direction of the spindle.
I used Axis GUI.
I can start the spindle.
When I click to "counterclockwise" button and then to "+" and "-" it works.
But when I stop spindle and click to "clockwise" button, the spindle does not change the direction of rotation and immediately picks up the max speed.
The "+" and "-" buttons does not work in this direction.
I do not know if there is a problem with the LinuxCNC or VFD settings.
Thanks a lot and happy new year

Sounds like your hal file is using the signed spindle speed pin rather than the unsigned (abs) one
can you post you hal/ini files?

one problem is this:
net spindle-vel-cmd-rpm => pid.s.command
should be
net spindle-vel-cmd-rpm-abs => pid.s.command
But the spindle direction still should have changed so this suggests that in addition
to the above issue, the DIR output is not changing the VFD direction. This may be a VFD
programming issue or wiring issue

Hi
I checked Wiring and VFD settings.
The problem is only when is checked "Use +- voltage for direction" in PNCconf wizard - attachment.
When I unchecked it the spindle direction works.
Now everything is working.
Thank you for your help.
