I need to upgrade the firmware on the 7i76.
I'm using a 7i92, which doesn't seem to work to flash the sserial
it doesn't see the 7i76 when hostmot2 is loaded with setup speed baud.

First - is this possible I can't see any reference to using cards other then the 5i25. 6i25...

If it should work, then i'll give more detail to what I have done so far...

Thanks

I don't think I've tried this particular combination but it certainly should work

something like ./updatess-eth 7i76 7i92 0

Note that the updatess-eth script assumes a 10.10.10.10 Ethernet FPGA card IP address

Yes I got it to work thanks.
I suspect I didn't get the jumper set correctly the first time.

One thing is the readme mentions using commands such as:
./updateess .....

That looks like a bash command yet the update files are HAL files.
I did it by hand in a halrun environment.

Maybe I missed something there but anyways thanks it helps when you know it is supposed to work :)

Actually that's a bash file that creates a hal file from a template and then runs it with halrun

You may not have power cycled after moving the jumper (the bash file reminds you to do this)

There are bash scripts if you get the driver update file from Mesa.

I probably should change the setsserial manpage to reflect that.
