Hey guys,

I have a spindle servo for my milling machine that accepts both a 0-10v or -/+10v control signal and I was curious if anyone knew of any differences in performance?

I have a 7i92m with 7i76 and 7i77 and the only reason I was keeping the 7i77 was to drive the spindle servo with -/+10v thinking it was acting closer to a true servo control. But I'm not certain if it would be better than the 7i76 0-10v control method?

If there is no difference then I would simplify things by dropping the 7i77 as I am able to run everything else on just the 7i76.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

I should clarify the Spindle motor has an encoder, I'm sure it's obvious but I didn't mention it before and figured I better just in case.

For spindle i do not think it would make much of a difference what you use, so i would go with the 0-10V and leave the 7i77 for other projects.
Just my opinion.

Tommylight,

Awesome thanks! I was concerned it wouldn't be as good as the other method for rigid tapping etc..

I will give it a go with just the 7i76
