Peter, would you be able to revise this bit file so it exposes the 7i76e UART as you did here:

Another member has bought my plasma cutter so I wanted to upgrade to a Hypertherm and see if I can talk to it via the 7i76e's RS422 UART.

Puts the encoder A input on the 7I76E B pin
Depending on the previous state of the B input in your system, the count direction might change
(so you may need to change the sign of the encoder scale)
