changing smart serial baudrate. was created by thang
Is there a way that i can change smart serial baudrate of PCI card? I see in sserial remote boards, there is a option to choose 2.5MHz or 115200Hz, i want to change sserial baudrate from 2.5MHz to 115200 Hz with out recompile linuxcnc, is it posible ?

Replied by PCW on topic changing smart serial baudrate.
You can change the sserial baud rate with in the hostmot2 driver command line:
loadrt hostmot2 sserial_baudrate=115200
I know this work for things like flashing firmware, but i'm not sure if the driver will do a normal
sserial probe an start at different baud rates because I think the driver may reset the FPGA code at some point
(restoring the default 2.5 Mbps data rate)
Note that 115200 baud is too slow to transmit/receive much data at the normal 1 KHz
servo thread rate, certainly no more than a couple of characters.
