"No 7i92M Board Found" under mesaflash was created by Wireline
Hi
I am trying to use mesaflash to interrogate the 7i92M, which is plugged into a 7i74. The problem is that when I use readhmid I just get "No board 7i92 found" or "No board 7i92M found".
I have tried using
with W5 down and W6 up, and
with both W5 and W6 down. Also both versions with "7i92M" and with and without sudo.
I have cable power on the 7i92, with all relevant pins set to ON, and likewise on the 7i74. They are getting 5V and the 5V jumper is selected.
In my network dialog I set the ipv4 settings to match (either 10.10.10.1 or 192.168.1.121), and I am able to ping both addresses when assigned. I can also use ifconfig and see the correct addresses. I have updated my mesaflash repo to wheezy base and installed the latest version with apt-get. I have updated my debian 7 wheezy installation. I am running the RT-PREEMPT kernel under 2.8 pre-release. I have tried it with both a desktop PC and with a laptop. I have also tried various settings in etc/network/interfaces, and i have made sure I am added to the devnet usergroup (thought it was worth a shot), but none have worked.
Please can you provide some suggestions? I will provide any logs or output files required.
Thank you

I would do this:
1. Set W5 and W6 down
2. Cycle 7I92M power
Make sure you get only power LED (yellow) on and link LEDs on RJ45
3. Set host IP address to 192.168.1.10
Try again

OK lets give this a shot!
I have a PC talking to the mesa, and the mesa has 192.168.1.121. When I run ifconfig, this address shows under the "inet" number. So if I understand correctly, next I need to change the "host IP address" to 192.168.1.10 ... however the instructions I found online to do that are to type:
When I type that though, it changes the inet number to 192.168.1.10 and I can no longer see the board at its address (eg ping it) until I disconnect and reconnect the mesa, in which event the inet returns to 192.168.1.121.
Is this 'inet' number the number of the host, or of the board, and if so how do I change the host IP address please?
Thanks!

The host inet address must be set to something different then the 7I92s address (but on the same subnet)
That why 192.168.1.10 is suggested
The easiest way to set this is via the net manager GUI (little ice cream bar like icon on the top left of the screen )
If you set the host to 192.168.1.121 and ping 192.168.1.121 you are pinging the host not the 7I92 (and you cannot access the 7I92)
