7i76 Field Voltage Ground was created by Dean
I'm just finishing up my 5i26/7i76 install and everything seems to be working. As I try to finish the auto tool touch-off routine, I noticed that the board 5V ground is isolated from the field (24V) ground.. All other grounds in my system are common, including the 7i76 5V supplied by the 5i25. Is this the way it should be or should they all be tied together?
Thanks,
Dean

You can leave the field voltage isolated if desired, this can help isolate the 5V signals from noise generated by the 24V switching. If its convenient to have a common ground
between the 5V and 24V wiring its best to have a single common point, typically at the 24V common of the 24V power supply.
