7i96e Power Supply Question was created by Project_Hopeless
The 7i76e can take 24vdc power directly to the board and source or sink NPN/PNP proximity sensors. Does this 24vdc also power the board or do you also need the 5vdc?

The 7i96e board only appears to accept 5vdc. Is this correct? Can you still run NPN or PNP proximity sensors? Do you just tie the 5 and 24v commons together?

The 7I76E can run entirely on 12/24V field power if you wish by supplying the
field power and logic power regulator with a common 12/24V, no 5V is needed in this case

The 7I76E works better with PNP type sensors since its inputs are sinking (must be connected to + voltage to be detected)

The 7I96 is 5V powered only
Its Isolated inputs can be sourcing or sinking depending on where the input common is connected
so can work with NPN or PNP type sensors (but not both at once)
