need hardware suggestion : 7i76 e or ed ? was created by Fireman
Hi, this is my first post.
I think I am going to try linux cnc in the near future.
My question : For NPN NC sensors, is it correct if I use 7i76 ED ?

The 7I76e/7I76ed difference is in the outputs, not the inputs
Both have sinking inputs so will only work directly with PNP type sensors,
to use NPN type sensors, you would need to add a ~2K pullup resistor to each input
If it has enough I/O for your application 7I96 inputs can work with NPN or
PNP type sensors
