Hello.
Peter, I was hoping to ask a question relating to the encoder ports on the 7i29 please.
Specifically, does the 7i29 take the inbound encoder information and use it in any way on the board, specifically does it use this info to close say a velocity loop in the drive?
Or is the encoder input on the 7i29 to purely provide a conduit to get those signals into the 50 pin cable to feed back into the controller and it all happens there?
Reason I ask is that I am installing linear encoders in addition to the existing rotaries, and thus want to know if the 7i29 handles anything itself, outside of the controller with the existing encoder info.
Thanks,
Marty.

No, the 7I29 is basically 2 bare HBridges and 2 encoder interfaces
