Hello,
as Mesa daughter cards are well capable, i was wondering if it could be wired to one of those with minimal hardware avoiding the HSI or MI8-4 Renishaw interfaces.
Any clue appreciated.

I use MI8-4 to get proper signal conditioning before the signal goes to Mesa input.
If you go directly, how are you going to condition the signal?

If this probe is nothing than a switch, I think that it could be debounced accurately by Linuxcnc.
But I have no idea what is the working principle of this probe, thus my question.

From the HSI installation guide, it looks behaving like a switch. See attachment.

Any how you have to take care of debounce before input to Mesa board.
The medicine is HSI or MI8-4 or you have to build your own design.

I found an example of probe debouncing handled by the debounce function :
www.forum.linuxcnc.org/24-hal-components...ng-debounce-to-probe
If this probe is really a switch, I don’t see any reason to have it debounced the same way.

Go for the comp, I did choose the easy way as I had the industry standard conditioning unit.
