Mesa Card Selection Help was created by mmt
I have a YAG laser system running that I built about 7 or 8 years ago. It is running off of 2 parallel ports. I would love to redo the whole system with Mesa cards however this is not an option due to down time required. So what I need, is to add 2 sub-systems that require analog inputs of -10v to +10v range.
My only experience with Mesa is the 5i25-7i76.
Is there an appropriate card or cards from Mesa that can be interfaced with HAL that can provide 2 analog channels of output?
Thanks,
Kent

Unfortunately; there is no standalone card that will do this other than the quite new 7I97
(and it has 6 analog channels and things you don't need like 6 encoder inputs)
If this is for laser deflection, is there any chance of using a XY2-100 interface instead of analog?

I am switching out the old power supply and RF driver. They had a built in serial interface. I used serial commands to set power and frequency.
The new units both have analog input for the power and RF.

There may not be a single card option, but you could use something like a
7i83
, plus what ever you'd need to connect it (such as a 7i96, 7i76e, or 5i25+7i76).
You would not have to replace your existing parallel port connections, but since you would have to install all of the hardware you'd need to replace them, why not just do it all right from the beginning.
