On one terminal I have TB1 pin 1 GND and TB2 pin 8 GND running to the negative side or the 5 volt supply. Do these need to be seperate? Is ground the same as the negative side of the 5 volt supply?

Someone else wired my machine. Some things are not working correctly, so I am trying to figure out how to fix it.
The TB1 pin 1 and the TB2 pin 8 has a wire that run to same terminal. On the other side of that terminal has a wire that runs to the negative side of the 5 volt power supply. Is this correct?
