Hello forum,
for all late risers like me, happy new year.
I want to expand my machine hardware. At the moment a 7i76e + 7i85s is installed. It has 5 axes and 5 encoders and all I/O are in use. I want to install a rotary axis in the near future and still need some I/O and an encoder. My idea is to expand it with a 7i84 + 7i85. I found a connection and bit file for the 7i85. I have two questions.
Is that a good idea and will it work?
How do I connect the 7i84? Does anyone have a picture for something like that?

Yes, that configuration should work.
The 7I84 can connect to the 7I76Es serial expansion port
or the sserial expansion port on the 7I85S or any of the
5 sserial ports on the 7i85
