Additional PWM Signal on Mesa Card was created by f.klezl
Hello friends!

I just upgraded my selfbuilt CNC to a Mesa 7i76e Setup. Everything is working well, but now I want to add a laser and need a 0-10V PWM Signal! Unfortunately it's not obvious to me how to go about that.

As I understand I could reflash the Mesa card and convert one Step/Dir to PWM. Is that correct?
Even so, I need all 5 axis that the 7i76e provides. Is it possible to buy just a small expansion card with a single additional axis? I couldn't find anything on the Mesa website!

I will be very thankful for some help!
All the best, Ferdinand

7i76E has another analogue output for the spindle, that is a potentiometer in every way so you need to provide the 10V from another source.
That is in case you do not need the spindle output.

Thanks for the response tommylight!
Of course I forgot to mention that the analog output is used for the spindle!
Is there an expansion card with just a analog output?
Sorry, but the mesa cards are not yet very well understood by me!

There are two more D25 headers on the 7i76E, so you have another 34 IO pins at your disposal. They are 5V tolerant so if you need more that that you would have to use a transistor and some resistors.
If you need slow PWM, i think i read somewhere that the normal outputs can be used for that, but not sure how fast can they be used. PCW might give more insight on that.
