is there a dauthercard in the Flashfile and itt is not present in the hardware
make a readback of the pins

That is usually a bad or not sufficient 5V supply or ethernet or even bad latency fluctuations.

I would run the card for a while and then check the tmax values
As tommylight said, bad latency can cause dropped packets, leading to that error

To get the tmax values, run

halcmd show param *.tmax

and paste the values here

(your CPU speed is also needed since these numbers are all in CPU clocks)

Peter to be clear this only happens on LinuxCNC startup and the mill performs ok after that.

Also how do I get the cpu speed. The mill is about 25 miles away but can get the guy to run a terminal and send them to me.

To answer Tom. Yes I put a good 5V power source in when I did the control box.

It still indicates a lost packet which is most likely due to a latency issue
