Mesa 7i76/THCAD 10 wiring was created by luftlupus
Hi i am hopefully getting towards the end of my plasma table build. But i have a question on the wiring of the mesa THCAD and the 7i76 board i have this picture of what i was hopefully able to figure out correctly but just want anyone with experience to verify this is correct before i fry something. Thanks
Also i have another question, how do you guys with plasma's have the torch know when its hitting metal before a start arc to set the height? is there some kind of feedback i can get a hold of from the torch end? or is there an easier way to do this? cheers again.

Have you read the PlasmaC docs linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/plasma/plasma...e.html#_introduction
You generally using a floating head that the torch is mounted on and that triggers a switch. You can also use ohmic probing with the floating head

I thought the floating head was to protect the torch going down. You can use it as a start switch instead of the ohmic probe?

You sure can. i have been using the floating head without any issues by itself. i don't have an ohmic installed.
