Custom I/O Daughter Cards for Mesa 7I92 was created by yrsiddhapura
Hi there,

There is any open-source hardware or have schematics that could work as Custom I/O Daughter Cards for Mesa 7I92. I am asking for schematics coz m noob in electronics and want to build a custom BB for 3 axis and with 0-10V spindle output and spindle encoder input, STEP/DIR output, and encoder input for each axis and General 24V IO.

There is no need to waste endless amount of hours to build something like this....you can buy a Mesa 7i76 (STEP/IO Step&dir plus I/O daughtercard).

@0x2102 yes you right 7i76e is more then enough and mine first choise even in my mill i am using it but for this application i need only 3 axis and encoder feedback (from linear scale) and for economically to it will benefit me like lets say 7i76 will cost me 119$ and shipping to India will cost other $ for 7i76 and Custom duty too and if this mine products get succeeded i will have to purchase in bulk while Developing BB here would cost me little in beginning but manufacturing cost would be very low.

You can make such a card fairly simply but there is not much I/O available
after the encoders and step/dir pins, for example:

4 multiplexed encoders 7 pins (4 takes no more pins than 3)
3 step/dir channels 6 pins
PWM/DIR/ENA 3 pins
1 I/O bit 1 pins
= 17

You might be better off using a inexpensive parallel port breakout
(like the ubiquitous "Mach 5 Axis BOB") on one connector and
and a very simple encoder interface on the other
