Having an issue with the bit file, cut & paste from my session, just to see if things were work I loaded 7i92_7i77_7i74D.bit and all the serial ports on P1 showed up. 7i92.zip was downloaded today from here www.mesanet.com/software/parallel/7i92.zip

My 7i92 currently has 7i92_7i76_7i74D.bit loaded and the result is below.

rmurphy@bf20l-vario:~/Documents/bf20/Mesa/7i92/7i92/configs/hostmot2$ mesaflash --addr 10.10.10.10 --device 7I92 --write ./7i92_7i76_7i74D.bit

Downloaded new bitfile from here
www.forum.linuxcnc.org/27-driver-boards/...-7i74-bit-file#83085

Has the 7i92.zip updated ? Am I on the right track ?

Rob. that post is from 2016, so it might be better to go to the Mesa site for the latest.

PCW will probably see this and give more info

I actually downloaded the 7i92.zip from the Mesa site today. The bit file I referenced in that post appears to be what is needed. At least doing a readhmid gives the pin output I was expecting to see.

www.mesanet.com/software/parallel/7i92.zip
md5sum a291ae7c2157d144b26cc5fad67357f0
Which has the incorrect bit file

appears to be different to

freeby.mesanet.com/software/parallel/7i92.zip
md5sum 7cbe387c1ff6c9251c36ef003c66319b
Which appears to have the correct bit file.

So far so good, I'll hook up the 7i74 & 7i83 and see how we go tomorrow.
Waiting on contactors, DIN Rail terminals & AC Line Reactor to come in so I can get the spindle wired up.

Then I can finish the upgrades to my table saw........which kinda lead to upgrading the spindle on the Mill.

Then.....hopefully the collars I ordered for my Myford ML7/Super 7 hybrid will come in and I can tick off another project. And then I can start making some stuff other than working on the machines..hahahaha well maybe

Started when I bought a ML7 bed off eBay. Then got a S7 headstock And Mk2 clutch, S7 tailstock and cross/compound slide.
The only issue is that to have the back gear installed I need to mod the bed. But I’m hoping the 1hp 3ph motor and VFD should bring things around.
Apart from the lead screw everything has been bought via eBay or RDG. Yeah I bought everything bit by bit. I think I’m a little crazy.
I don’t want to think how much postage has cost.
BTW the bed is a ‘53 model and just about spot on, I think the bed itself had very very little use.

I have put a 60 slot encoder on the spindle it works a treat for threading.

I am thinking of changing the motor to a servo instead of the single phase one. I have a nema 23 on the lead screw and X screw. link to my nas photos.app.goo.gl/DNoUmQYVaNzo63yeA

This is a bit mysterious since the bitfiles at www.mesanet.com and freeby.mesanet.com are identical:
